If you have recently upgraded your home internet router, moved to a new Internet Service Provider (ISP), or updated your wireless network's security password, your Retrotouch Wi-Fi Smart Switches will lose their secure connection and appear as "Offline" inside the app.
Because smart switches do not have a keyboard interface, they cannot automatically update to a new password. You must perform a quick network refresh to pass the new credentials over to the switches.
Before resetting all the physical switches around your house individually, you can try this network shortcut. If you set up your new router to exactly mimic your old network configuration, all of your smart switches will instantly reconnect without you having to re-pair a single one.
Look up the login instructions for your new router's admin panel (usually found on a sticker on the back of the router).
Navigate to the Wireless Settings menu.
Change the new Wi-Fi network name (SSID) so that it is exactly identical to your old Wi-Fi network name (case-sensitive).
Change the Wi-Fi password so it matches your old password exactly.
Save the settings and reboot the router. Your switches will recognize their original security tokens and jump back online automatically.
Note: If you are doing this, ensure your old router is completely powered off or unplugged so the signals do not conflict.
If you want to keep your new Wi-Fi network name or password, you must push the updated security credentials to the switches manually. You do not need to delete the switches from your app first—re-adding them over the top will preserve all of your custom room assignments, timers, and automation scenes.
Follow this step-by-step sequence for each switch:
