Technical Specifications: KNX RF Kinetic Switch
The Retrotouch wireless kinetic KNX ecosystem is powered by hardware developed by ZF Friedrichshafen AG. The system consists of two primary components: the KNX RF Push Button Module (AFIM-1010), which fits inside standard architectural switch frames and the KNX RF Programming Adapter (AFZM-0001), which is used temporarily during network commissioning.
.
This module operates as a completely wireless, self-powered control node designed to inject telegrams directly into a KNX-RF1.R system topology to manage building technology applications like lighting and shutter control
.
2. KNX RF Programming Adapter (AFZM-0001)
Because the push button module utilizes batteryless kinetic generation, it contains no internal power to hold open a wireless transceiver link when stationary
. The auxiliary programming adapter serves as a temporary power source to bridge bidirectional parameter downloads from the ETS 5 software suite
.
3. Physical & Safety Constraints
Mechanical Protection: Both the programming adapter and the push button module are stamped with a explicit "Top" alignment marker
. Connecting the programming adapter upside down can override the mechanical protection layout and cause permanent physical degradation to the switch module's internal contact pins
.
Electrical Maintenance: The exposed alignment pins on the underside of the pairing adapter must never be short-circuited or electrically bridged, as this will result in immediate battery discharge or failure during the pairing sequence
.
Operational Restrictions: In accordance with industrial system regulations, this hardware is explicitly banned from deployment inside safety-relevant, life-preserving, or health-supportive medical facilities
.
Regulatory Compliance: The system components are CE certified and compliant with the following European standardized guidelines: EN 300-220 SRD, EN 301 489-1/-3, and EN 60950-1
.
